Hospice care is designed to offer medical and comprehensive support to you and your loved ones during the final phases of life. The focus is on your comfort, providing you a better quality of life, and reducing your symptoms, so you can be as alert and pain-free as possible.
Hospice care addresses your physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. It primarily revolves around caring for the terminally ill who have six months or less to live. This doesn’t mean that care will end at six months, however. Hospice care can continue for as long as your doctor and hospice care team certify that the condition is life-limiting.
Hospice care is provided at home, typically with a family member as the primary caregiver, and it’s also available at hospitals, nursing homes, dedicated hospice facilities, and assisted living facilities.
